In -Office teeth whitening makes it possible to achieve a whiter, brighter smile in a very short period of time. First, we coat the teeth with whitening gel, then a special light is shined onto the teeth. The light works with the gel to release oxygen. The oxygen penetrates the enamel and the dentin layers of the teeth, removing stains and discolored areas.
Your new smile will lighten, on average, about 6 to 10 shades. We may sometimes recommend a fluoride treatment, additional bleaching at home, or another session here in our office. We'll also give you instructions for taking care of your new smile and for any post-whitening sensitivity.
Home-whitening is a less expensive, but more time consuming way of whitening your teeth. We make custom trays of your upper and lower arches, then we make special whitening trays. For 7 to 10 days for an average of one or two hours per day, you place a special whitening gel in the trays and place them in your mouth. As days pass by, you'll see brighter teeth.
